Google reviews for beauty salons: how to get them and how to respond

Reviews help clients choose and make your local presence more credible. A simple system lets you ask for them without pressure and handle negative ones effectively too.

The right time to ask for a review

A request works best when it follows a moment of genuine satisfaction: the end of a treatment programme, a visible result or an unsolicited compliment, with a direct link and a personal message.

    • Ask straight after the result, not weeks later.
    • Send a direct link to the review form.
    • Do not suggest wording or offer discounts in exchange for five stars.
    • Make the request part of your process, rather than relying on staff to remember.

How to respond to positive and negative reviews

Every response should be brief, specific and respectful: thank clients for positive reviews; for negative ones, acknowledge the experience, avoid public arguments and move the conversation to direct contact.

    Which metrics really matter

The average rating is not all that matters: track how often new reviews arrive, the quality of responses and recurring themes, because they show where your service delivers on its promise or falls short.

Ten recent, detailed reviews can be more persuasive than many old ones. A sustainable flow comes from the number of clients you serve, not from occasional campaigns.
