Which channels really work in 2026

Three channels work for a local beauty salon: location-targeted Meta Ads, a Google Business Profile and structured word of mouth.

Meta Ads (Facebook and Instagram) remains the channel with the lowest cost per lead because it lets you reach only people who live within a few kilometres of the salon. A Google Business Profile attracts people who are already looking for a treatment: lower volume, much higher intent. Word of mouth, when organised through review requests and a referral programme, is the third channel and costs nothing on average.

What no longer works: organic posts hoping someone will get in touch, generic flyers, 50% discounts that only attract bargain hunters.

The introductory offer matters more than the advertising

An effective introductory offer lets clients try a treatment at an accessible price, without devaluing your standard prices and with a follow-up plan already in place.

    • One clearly defined treatment, not a list of services.
    • A price that covers at least the treatment room costs, never a complete giveaway.
    • A genuine limit (places or weeks), not a fake countdown.
    • A planned transition to the full treatment programme during the very first session.

Response speed matters more than budget

Those who respond within 5 minutes book twice as many appointments on average as those who respond after a few hours.

This is where most salons lose money: advertising brings in leads, but staff are in treatment rooms and WhatsApp and Instagram enquiries sit unanswered until the evening. In the meantime, the person has also contacted two nearby salons.

The solution is to take the initial response off your staff's hands: an automated assistant on WhatsApp responds in under a minute 24 hours a day, understands which treatment the enquiry is about, handles the pricing question and suggests two available slots.

How much to invest each month

A salon with 2-3 treatment rooms typically starts with an advertising budget of 600-1.000 € per month, plus the cost of the system that manages leads.

The rule of thumb: the budget must be sustainable for at least three consecutive months. Three months at 700 € are worth much more than one month at 2.000 € followed by two months of silence, because local campaigns improve as data accumulates.

Treatment room sales complete the picture

Without a sales approach in the treatment room, even the best leads stop at the single treatment they tried.

The real value of a new client is not the first session: it is the treatment programme. You need a structured initial consultation, a simple way to present the package and a ready response to the two recurring objections — price and time.

The 4 numbers to track every week

Leads generated, appointments booked, clients who attended and treatment packages sold: if any of these numbers is missing, you cannot tell where revenue is being lost.
