Retention and WhatsApp
Inactive clients: WhatsApp messages and a re-engagement plan for beauty salons
Clients who already know the salon are the most likely to book another appointment. Effective re-engagement starts with their treatment history and offers a concrete reason to return, without spam.

Do not send the same message to your entire database
Segment clients by their last treatment, time since their last visit and likely reason to return: relevance matters more than the number of messages sent.
| Segment | Relevant message |
|---|---|
| Interrupted treatment plan | Results check-in and a proposal to resume |
| Seasonal treatment | A reminder at the right time |
| Regular client who has stopped visiting | Personal message and availability |
| First visit with no return | Ask about the experience, rather than making an immediate offer |
A short sequence that does not feel like spam
Use a personal message, a single follow-up and then stop: a name, real context, a helpful reason and a simple question work better than a generic promotion.
- Message 1: acknowledge the relationship and ask how things are going.
- Message 2 after 3-5 days: suggest two specific appointment slots.
- No reply: end the sequence and do not push.
- Positive reply: move straight to a team member or booking.
Consent and metrics to monitor
Only contact people where you have a valid legal basis and honour opt-out requests immediately; measure replies, appointments, attendance and recovered revenue, not just blue ticks.
A sustainable campaign keeps proof of consent, clearly identifies the centre and provides a way to opt out of further messages. Before sending bulk messages, check the process with the person responsible for privacy at the centre.
